Supporting Our
Community Together
We can connect hearts, transform lives and foster a sense of belonging for everyone

Mental Health Therapies
Queer therapy from therapists who understand being queer.
Our psychotherapists and counsellors have both lived experience of existing within the LGTBQIA+ community and additional training and qualifications to best support our community’s mental health. We understand the varied and unique challenges members of our community face as they navigate their lives as part of a marginalised population.
We offer 1:1 counselling and psychotherapy, both online and face to face. We also offer group therapy sessions and counsellor-led support groups. We will also be offering mental health workshops and courses which will teach you the skills needed to support your own mental health in the future.

Be / Here was born from an idea to create a safe space in Stockport for our queer community to feel understood and empowered.
While studying for a Pink Therapy diploma in working with Gender, Sex and Relationship Diversity, Max was struck with how much traditional therapy training failed our community; in comparison in terms of training therapists to work with LGBTQIA+ clients.
They recognised the need for a specialised service for our community’s mental health with a deep understanding of the lived experience of those who identify as queer.
And so be / here was founded.
Joining Vanessa, who brings experience in the mental health sector and a passion for her LGBTQIA+ family, we founded our social enterprise to provide affordable therapy to those who need it the most.
We have many future goals of providing therapy and counselling and focusing on the joy to be found within our community through community events, meet-ups and more.
Being a part of the LGBTQIA+ community means something different for each of us and we have founded be / here to celebrate that.

Community
Outreach
We want to make connections throughout our community, not just through mental health services, but through opportunities to share joy, art, music, poetry and much more. We will be looking to establish regular social meet ups, poetry and open mic nights, craft events as well as welcoming in a range of guest speakers and performers. There is plenty of research which shows the huge benefit a sense of community and belonging can have on mental health and we want to be a place of joy and connection for our LGBTQIA+ family.
